Infrastructure - This facility is located on the Norfolk Southern rail line with a working spur. In addition, the facility is located less than 5 miles from two I-20 interstate exits.

Cooper Steel is a privately held national leader in steel fabrication and erection recognized throughout the nation. Cooper Steel South was established in 2019 when the parent company, Cooper Steel, purchased a plant in Childersburg, Alabama, as part of a national expansion strategy. Cooper Steel South serves as one of the companies' three primary fabrication facilities, alongside the headquarters in Shelbyville, Tennessee, and another plant in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Associated MetalCast (AMI) has expanded its manufacturing footprint with the development of a 60,000-square-foot facility on McIntosh Road in Oxford, AL. Due to continued growth and increasing customer demand, the company is now planning an additional expansion that will bring the total footprint of this location to 124,100 square feet. This expansion represents a significant investment in East Alabama's manufacturing base and workforce.
Over the past year, AMI has invested $6.3 Million into its production and created more than 20 new jobs. The company anticipates adding 40–50 additional positions in the coming years as production capacity continues to scale, bringing their total number of employment to 200. These new roles will support advanced machining, automation, quality, and engineering functions, further strengthening the region's skilled manufacturing workforce.
